The University of San Carlos improved in its Impact Rankings for 2025 and is now ranked in the 1001–1500 bracket with an overall score of 52.2 out of 100. USC submitted data for 9 out of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Last year, USC was ranked 1501+ with a score of 41.3 for 11 out of the 17 U.N. SDGs. This is now the third straight year that USC is ranked in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings after getting its initial ranking in 2023.

USC ranked highest in SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) with a score of 54.5 and is ranked in the 301–400 bracket. Notably, USC was one of the first-ever recipients of the ACEN RES Renewable Energy Enabler Award (REENA) on August 1, 2024 for sourcing its electrical energy from renewables.

Two other SDGs that allowed USC’s qualification in the 2025 Impact Rankings were SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation, 47.4, ranked 401–600) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth, 49.5, ranked 601–800). USC has been consistently involved in the Metro Cebu River Scan Challenge, the latest iteration of which was concluded on May 2, 2025. Meanwhile, USC was also named one of the Philippines’ Best Employers of 2025.

A total of 113 Philippine universities are included in the 2025 THE Impact Rankings.
