PTC-ACBET awards full accreditation to 7 Eng’g programs

The Philippine Technological Council-Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET) awarded accreditation certificates to seven programs of the School of Engineering, namely Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering during a ceremony held on September 5, 2018 at the Fr. Lawrence Bunzel Building in Talamban Campus.

The full accreditation status of these programs started in 2016 and will last until 2021 to cover six full years of accreditation.

The certificates were given by the Engr. Federico Monsada (PTC President) and Engr. Emmanuel Caguimbal (PTC Quality Assurance Manager) to the respective Chairs of Departments offering the seven programs (see photo above). The event was graced by Fr. Dionisio Miranda, SVD, S.Th.D. (University President), Fr. Aleksander Gaut, SVD, Ph.D. (Vice President for Academic Affairs), and Fr. Narciso Cellan, SVD (Asst. VP for Academic Affairs). Present also during the ceremony were heads of the different support offices including the Library System, Registrar, Guidance, Accounting, and Human Resources Management Office, and faculty members of the School of Engineering.

The PTC is the sole representative of the Philippine jurisdiction, being a provisional member to the Washington Accord since June 2013. The Washington Accord recognizes the substantial equivalency of engineering programs accredited by full members or signatory bodies and recommends that graduates of said accredited programs be recognized by the other bodies as having met the academic requirements for entry to the practice of engineering.
