PHREB grants Level 2 accreditation to USC Research Ethics Committee

The Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) has granted a Level 2 accreditation to the University of San Carlos Research Ethics Committee (USC REC) effective today September 5, 2022 until September 4, 2025.

This three-year accreditation allows the USC REC to review research protocols involving human participants.

The latest accreditation follows the provisional one-year accreditation of PHREB from May 18, 2021 to May 17, 2022 (see related story). USC REC has since complied with the recommendations of the PHREB, paving the way for this three-year accreditation as a Level 2 ethics committee.
