Nursing students grab 1st place in PNA-Cebu Interschool Quiz Bowl

A team of nursing students from the University of San Carlos (USC) Department of Nursing placed first during the Nightingale Quest Interschool Quiz Bowl organized by the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) Cebu Chapter on May 25, 2025 at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

The winning team was composed of Kiara Sachi Fernandez (BSN 2), Johanna Cherrie Caballes (BSN 3), and Nica Bettina Ruaya (BSN 4), who exhibited impressive patient care knowledge, critical thinking skills, and cohesive teamwork throughout the competition.

Guided by their coach, Maria Lourdeni Ruaya, M.A.N., the team bested competitors from seven other nursing schools, demonstrating USC’s continued commitment to academic excellence.

The USC Department of Nursing extends its heartfelt congratulations to the team, Kiara, Johanna, Nica, and their mentor, Mrs. Ruaya, for their remarkable performance and for bringing pride to the University.
