Fr. Cellan meets with alumni officers

University President Fr. Narciso A. Cellan Jr., SVD, D.Comm. met with alumni officers on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Magallanes Hall of the City Sports Club Cebu. 

Dubbed as A Carolinian Conversation, the event enabled the USC Administration to share the plans and projects of the University with the alumni officers as USC gears up for its 75th Founding Anniversary as a University. The then Colegio de San Carlos became the University of San Carlos on July 1, 1948.

The alumni officers were led by USC Alumni Association Chairman Ronald S. Po and Chairman Emeritus Jack S. Gaisano. Together with them were alumni officers representing different USC Schools, namely, Cesar C. Cagalawan (Carolinian ALUMNIChem Foundation), Ma. Lina Juban-Mier (School of Business and Economics Alumni Association), Dr. Judith Raagas (representing the School of Education), Dr. Jeane Dabon-Sanchez (USC-ChES Foundation), Jocelyn C. Cadampog (Carolinian Nurses Alumni Association), Nelly Nonette M. Ouano (Carolinian Pharmacists Alumni Association), Atty. Aileen Barrientos-Asejo (USC Girls High School Alumni Association), and Ryan Villaflores (USC North Alumni Association).

This was Fr. Cellan’s first face-to-face meeting with alumni officers after he was formally installed as University President in November 2020. Father Cellan was accompanied by his cabinet members namely Vice President for Administration Fr. Generoso Ricardo B. Rebayla Jr., SVD, M.M., Vice President for Finance Fr. Arthur Z. Villanueva, SVD, M.A., Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs Atty. Joan S. Largo, Ll.M., Assistant Vice President for Administration Fr. Melchor P. Fuerzas, SVD.

Also in attendance were Fr. Eleno P. Bucia, SVD, M.B.A., Director of the new Office of Naming Rights, Endowments, and Sponsorships (ONES), Elizabeth M. Remedio, Ph.D., (ONES Assistant Director), Patrick John Y. Lim, Ph.D. (Director, Research, Development, Extension, and Publications Office), and Ferdinand S. Boncayao, M.M.P.M., Ll.B. (Director, Alumni Affairs, Scholarships, and Job Placement).
