Computer engineering students (see photo above) reaped awards during the regional academic competition participated by eight universities from Region 7. There were three events in the academic competition, namely the Quiz Bowl, Programming, and Logic Circuits Design.

The Logic Circuits Design team composed of Ralph Alvarez and Robert Espina won the 1st place, while both the Quiz Bowl team composed of Miranda Pateña, Jan Ray Maloloy-on, and Keenan Mendiola, and the Programming team composed of Rexes Murro and Jarrhey dela Peña, grabbed 2nd place.

This is the second straight championship title of USC in the Logic Circuits Design event, who then went on to represent Region 7 in the nationals for the first time placing 3rd in the national competition. The current team will again represent our USC and Region 7 in the national competition in Baguio City in November 2018.

The whole-day event started with the academic competition in the morning and industry seminars in the afternoon. Among the companies that participated in the event were Kyocera, Full Scale, Lear, and Mitsumi.
