The Japanese students experienced local pharmacy education as they were immersed in lecture and laboratory classes. They also saw how pharmacy is practiced in different industries as they visited a local health center, community drugstore, and a tertiary hospital in Cebu.

The partnership between USC and Okayama University has been ongoing since 2017, and was initially established through the Sakura Science Exchange Program.

To date, both institutions continue to collaborate in academic and cultural exchange outside of the program.
