Projects receive NCCA accreditation

Two projects proposed by USC proponents received their formal accreditation by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Well Hotel, Cebu City.

Architect Vangie Cheryl Ulila, M.S., administrator of the Conservation of Heritage and Research Institute for Society and its History (CHERISH), received the NCCA accreditation certificate for her project that seeks to train workshop participants on the conservation and restoration of coral stone heritage structures. Ar. Ulila earned a master’s degree in historic preservation from the University of Texas at Austin.

Also representing the University in the event were Brenette L. Abrenica, M.A.P.A., M.P.S. (Director, External Relations and Internationalization Office) and Patrick John Y. Lim, Ph.D. (Director, Research, Development, Extension, and Publications Office).

Meanwhile, Cindy A. Velasquez, D.A.L.C. (Department of Communications, Linguistics, and Literature) also received an NCCA accreditation as an individual. Velasquez is preparing a poetry podcast with learning modules.

Velasquez receives her certificate of accreditation as an individual grantee.

Grants for these projects will be released by the NCCA after the memoranda of agreement have been fully executed.
